Q. Where will my server be colocated?
A. Your server will be colocated at the OSO Secure facility in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. For more information about our datacenter, visit the facility page.

Q. What size server(s) can I colocate?
A. You can colocate any size server at OSO Secure. We recommend rack-mountable 1U servers.

Q. Can I colocate more than one server?
A. Absolutely! To colocate multiple servers, just add up the total height of the servers. For instance, if you wish to colocate two 1U servers, we will instruct you to choose a 2U package.

Q. What are your contract terms?
A. You may choose from a 1-5 year contract. A 5 year contract provides the greatest value.

Q. What managed services do you provide with purchase of a colocation package?
A. We include the following services with your hosting package:
- Monitoring
- Tape rotation
- VWAN (Virtual Wide Area Network) service
- Firewall service
- Load-balancing
- Data storage and backup (tape or on-line)
- System administration (fully-managed servers)
- Additional internet connections (voice/T1) or phone lines

Q. May I visit your colocation facilities?
A. Absolutely! We enjoy giving our customers a tour of our facilities. If you live in or plan to visit the Albuquerque area, we will be happy to arrange a tour.

Q. Will you grant me access to your facilities to administer my own servers?
A. Yes. You will have access to the data center facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Q: Do I need to provide my own switch or hub when connecting my servers or network equipment?
A: No, your servers will be connected to our switches. However customers may choose to provide their own switches or firewalls when implementing multi tiered server environments.

Q: How can I get a server to you?
A: Send it to us by a reputable courier, such as UPS, FedEX or DHL. Ensure you get a receipt and tracking number. It is recommended that servers be insured while in transit.

Q: How high is 1U?
A: 1.75". Racks are a standard 19 inches wide, with depth to 80cm.

Q: What if my server has a problem while it's colocated at your location?
A: We can set an appointment to work on your server for you for a fee, or you may come work on your server at any time.

Q: Do you have an SLA (Service Level Agreement)?
A: Yes, we do. Read it online.

Q: Do I need to provide racks for my equipment?
A: You may provide racks if desired but this is not a requirement. We are happy to provide our racks for your use.

Q: Are your facilities carrier-neutral?
A: Yes. This means that you can get internet connections from other providers in our facilities.

Q: What is the difference between colocation and leased servers?
A: With colocation, you may access the datacenter, you use your own server, and you are billed based upon physical cabinet space usage per unit. With a leased server you have no physical access to the datacenter, and the hardware is leased. OSO-Secure does not provide leased servers.

Q:What type of backup power systems does OSO-Secure have to guard against a power failure?
A: OSO-Secure's power infrastructure is highly redundant and reliable. Featuring redundant UPS systems, static transfer switches, a backup diesel generator, and redundant distribution to the server room, our facility provides our customers with maximum power availability. Q: Does the facility provide environmental control and monitoring (temperature/humidity)?
A: Temperature and humidity control is provided by several redundant, high-capacity, computer-grade Liebert air units.

Q: What is a hot site?
A: A hot site is a duplicate of the original site of the business, with full computer systems as well as near-complete backups of user data. Following a disaster, the hot site exists so that the business can relocate with minimal losses to normal operations.
